Benin Republic’s head coach, Gernot Rohr, has expressed confidence in his team’s chances of securing another victory over the Super Eagles in their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
“We want to win again,” Rohr stated firmly.
“I wish them [Super Eagles] luck, but certainly not against my team. I’m familiar with the environment, the players, and everything. I’m confident that we will leave Nigeria with a positive result.”
The Cheetahs, held their first training session on Monday in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, as they prepare for the crucial match scheduled for Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Benin will be looking to replicate their success from June when they defeated the Super Eagles 2-1 in a World Cup qualifier.
Rohr, who previously coached the Super Eagles, has called up 25 players for the clash, although only 17 participated in the initial training session at Sofitel Hotel Ivoire, with the rest expected to join the team later.
