That emphatic win formed part of a memorable run that saw Nigeria go on to lift the trophy for a record-extending 10th time. The Super Falcons defeated South Africa in the semifinals before overcoming hosts Morocco in the final to reaffirm their status as Africa’s most successful women’s national team.

Elsewhere, Group A features hosts Morocco alongside Algeria, Senegal and Kenya, while Group B will see South Africa battle Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Tanzania for the top two qualification spots. Group D sees Ghana face Cameroon, Mali and Cape Verde.

The tournament will be staged across three Moroccan cities: Rabat, Casablanca and Fes, with matches played at four venues: Prince Moulay El Hassan Stadium and Al Madina Stadium in Rabat, Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca, and the Fez Stadium in Fes.
