Victor Boniface beats Harry Kane to Bundesliga Player of The Month award

Victor Boniface has been voted Bundesliga Player of The Month for August after his impressive start to life in the German League with Bayer Leverkusen.

Boniface beat the likes of Bayern Munich duo Harry Kane and Alphonso Davis to the award as well as RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Henrichs, Union Berlin’s Kevin Behrens, and Wolfsburg’s Jonas Wind.

The striker who earned his first call-up to the Super Eagles has been in superb form for Xabi Alonso-led side. He scored two goals and provided one assist for his side in August as they earned wins over Borussia Mönchengladbach and RB Leipzig.

Overall, he’s found the back of the next four times in three league appearances while his goal tally jumps to five in four games in all competitions.

“The Nigerian striker beat the likes of Harry Kane and Kevin Behrens to the prize, which was created by the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga in 2018/19, in cooperation with the Bundesliga’s official licensing partner, EA Sports,” the Bundesliga said on their official website on Thursday.
