…Umar Sadiq yet to score in five games for Sociedad

LaLiga side Valencia have informed Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq and his representatives that they will do everything possible to sign him during the January transfer window.

Sadiq has made just five appearances for Real Sociedad this season out of a possible 15 and is yet to score. His limited game time has fuelled reports linking the Nigeria international with a return to Los Che next month.

The 28-year-old previously enjoyed a successful half-season loan spell at Valencia, where he revitalised his form by scoring five goals in 16 matches after enduring a seven-game goal drought at Sociedad.

According to Fichajes.com, via Tribuna Deportiva, Valencia manager Carlos Corberán is particularly keen on the club’s pursuit of Sadiq as they look to strengthen their squad with a player already familiar with their playing philosophy.

Valencia have made contact with the striker and opened talks with his camp, but it remains unclear whether they can reach an agreement with Real Sociedad for a loan deal.

Reports suggest Sociedad would prefer an outright sale. Sadiq still has two years remaining on his contract with the Basque club.
