Slavia Prague manager Jindřich Trpišovský has explained the qualities that make Nigerian youngsters Emmanuel Ayaosi and Mubarak Suleiman valuable to his attacking setup. His assessment followed Saturday’s 5-0 victory over Jablonec, where both forwards found the net, Bold Sports reports.
Ayaosi has contributed five goals and three assists across all competitions this season. Suleiman has recorded three goals and two assists. Their combined output of eight goals and five assists provides context for Trpišovský’s comments about their growing importance to Slavia.
Why Trpišovský trusts his Nigerian attackers
Slavia’s attacking setup now features younger foreign players rather than relying as heavily on experienced Czech options. Asked about this change, Trpišovský pointed to the Nigerians’ potential and the threat they offer opponents.

“They were great. Before the match, I told them that we had Nigerian wingers and that we would be dangerous.”
The manager also highlighted their ages and individual ability. He singled out Ayaosi’s close control as a particular strength when operating in tight spaces.
“For their age, one is nineteen, the other is twenty-two, they are excellent. Ayaosi is great at manipulating the ball in a small space.”
However, Trpišovský made clear that the attackers’ effectiveness also depends on the work of their teammates. He explained how defensive solidity creates better conditions for the forwards to express themselves.
“Of course, the team helps them, the solid defense gives the offensive players confidence and puts them in good positions.”
Team structure and energy drive Slavia’s performance
Trpišovský acknowledged that Jablonec’s team selection also influenced the contest. He noted the absence of an important opponent but stressed that such situations can affect both sides.
“The opponent dropped Tekijaški, who is important for them, but such things happen to us too.”
The Slavia manager then highlighted the combination of movement and passing that helped his team perform effectively. He also mentioned Wiktor’s involvement and the energy displayed by the squad.
“It all came together, we managed to combine active running football with space balls. Wiktor played a lot. I liked the great energy the team had.”
Trpišovský explains the tactical adjustments
The coach also discussed Slavia’s formation and the differences between competing in Europe and the domestic league. His explanation showed how the team had to reconsider its structure after an earlier approach failed to deliver the desired results.
“We returned to the structure from the last few seasons. In Europe, you have to play a four. We wanted to continue that with Bolka, but the league is different.”

Trpišovský subsequently explained the specific adjustments that helped Slavia improve its attacking balance. He wanted Suleiman in a more advanced position to exploit his movement while strengthening the right flank.
“Our formation didn’t work out. We needed Mubarak more up top because of his runs, and we reinforced the right side with Vlčák. It worked out great for us.”
Nigerian duo strengthen Slavia’s attacking options
Suleiman opened the scoring in the 41st minute against Jablonec. Ayaosi doubled the advantage shortly after half-time, and Suleiman completed his brace in the 75th minute. Danijel Šturm added the fifth goal five minutes later.
The result demonstrated the effectiveness of Slavia’s attacking adjustments. Meanwhile, Trpišovský’s comments offered a clearer picture of the qualities he values in his Nigerian forwards.
Their combined season statistics underline their contributions, while the manager’s explanation highlights the importance of tactical flexibility and collective support in maximising their potential.
