Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare continued his impressive form, scoring his eighth goal of the season to help Genk secure a 2-0 victory over Gent in the Belgian Pro League.
The 23-year-old opened the scoring just after halftime in the 46th minute, firing the ball past the Gent goalkeeper. Genk extended their lead in the 58th minute when Jarne Steuckers converted a penalty awarded after Stefan Mitrović fouled Arokodare inside the box.

With this goal, Arokodare has already matched his total goal tally from the previous season. As Genk prepares to face Royal Antwerp next week, the Nigerian striker will be looking to solidify further his position as a key player for the league leaders.
The win, Genk’s ninth of the season, keeps them in first place in the league, five points ahead of second-placed Antwerp.
Arokodare was substituted for Oh Hyeon-gyu in the 78th minute, while his compatriot Yira Sor saw limited action, coming on for Jarne Steuckers in the 78th minute but exiting in the 87th for Noah Adeniji-Sternberg.
