Tolu Arokodare has expressed gratitude to Wolves supporters for standing by the club during a difficult campaign that ended in relegation from the Premier League.

The Super Eagles striker finished as Wolves’ joint top scorer in the league with three goals. Across all competitions, the 25-year-old registered six goals and two assists in 38 appearances during the season.

Despite his contributions, Wolves were unable to avoid relegation to the Championship for the first time since the 2017/18 campaign.

Although the club produced some encouraging results in the second half of the season against Arsenal, Aston Villa and Liverpool, they still finished bottom of the table with just 20 points. Wolves managed only three wins throughout the campaign while suffering 24 defeats.

On Tuesday, Arokodare took to his official Instagram account to reflect on the challenging season and thank supporters for their unwavering backing.

“A tough season for all of us, but feeling your support while you stuck with us this season is something I don’t take for granted. I’ve had some great personal moments and it makes me proud to have shared them with you all,” he wrote.

Arokodare has recently been linked with a move away from Wolves following the club’s relegation. However, the striker appeared to suggest he could remain at the club next season.

“Thanks for your support Wolves, see you next season,” he added.

Arokodare joined Wolves from Belgian side KRC Genk, where he scored 41 goals and provided 12 assists in 113 appearances. The Nigerian forward will now be hoping to rediscover his best form next season, whether at Wolves or elsewhere.
