Tochukwu Nnadi enjoyed a strong full debut for Marseille, providing an assist in their 1-1 draw with OGC Nice at the Orange Vélodrome on Sunday.

The Super Eagles midfielder joined Marseille in January, but had only made four appearances from the bench. This time, he started and made an instant impact, but the Olympians failed to secure all three points.

Despite creating several big opportunities in the first half, Marseille were unable to find the net. The deadlock was eventually broken in the 66th minute when Tochukwu Nnadi showcased his class.

The 22-year-old received the ball just outside the box, and delivered a beautiful cross which was met with a flying header from captain Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, giving the hosts the lead.

In the 80th minute, Tochukwu Nnadi was withdrawn and replaced by Nouhoum Kamissoko. Few minutes after the change, Nice won a penalty which was converted by Elye Wahi, leveling the score line.

Marseille committed several men forward in search of a stoppage time winner, but the hosts were unable to regain their lead, eventually settling for a disappointing draw.

The result sees them remain sixth in the Ligue 1 with 53 points, four points behind third-placed Lyon. Meanwhile, Nice remain 15th on the table with 30 points.

With just three games left, Marseille will need to be flawless to finish in the top four, which guarantees Champions League qualification. Their next match comes up against Nantes on Saturday, May 2.
