Nigeria Premier Football League side Sunshine Stars will on Tuesday unveil the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winner, Godfrey Oboabona, and Kennedy Boboye as replacements for Edith Agoye in the dugout.
Oboabona, a seasoned player, and Boboye, a seasoned coach, are returning to the club where they initially launched their careers. Oboabona kickstarted his professional journey with Sunshine Stars from 2010 to 2013 before venturing to Turkish side Çaykur Rizespor.
He earned his national team call-up while at Sunshine Stars accumulating 39 caps and contributing to the 2013 AFCON victory.

Oboabona’s return after a decade is anticipated to infuse the team with crucial experience, particularly as they find themselves precariously positioned just four points away from the relegation zone.
Likewise, Kennedy Boboye, who commenced his coaching journey with Sunshine Stars in 2015, will officially take the reins from Edith Agoye. Boboye’s coaching career has seen him achieve success with teams like Plateau United, Remo Stars, Akwa United, and Heartland.
The unveiling ceremony for Boboye and Oboabona is scheduled for Tuesday, with further player unveilings slated shortly before the team’s upcoming match against Kwara United.
