Maduka Okoye makes six big saves as Udinese upset Juventus 1-0

Maduka Okoye showcased his brilliance with six crucial saves as Udinese pulled off a remarkable 1-0 upset against Serie A powerhouse Juventus on Monday.

Despite the setback for Juventus denting their title aspirations, Okoye’s outstanding performance denied them numerous scoring opportunities that could have secured a comfortable victory.

This victory marked Okoye’s third clean sheet in seven Serie A appearances since earning the role of Udinese’s primary goalkeeper over Italian veteran Marco Silvestri, instilling even greater confidence in the Super Eagles shot-stopper.

The decisive goal came from center-back Lautaro Giannetti in the 25th minute, sealing the win for Udinese. Juventus’s attempts to stage a comeback were repeatedly thwarted by Okoye’s steadfast presence between the posts.

Alongside Okoye’s impressive display, Kingsley Ehizube made a notable contribution to Udinese.

In the late stages of the match, Isaac Success replaced Lorenzo Lucca in the 77th minute but received a yellow card for a foul in the 89th minute.

Udinese’s victory propelled them out of the relegation zone, as they surpassed Hellas Verona with 22 points, securing the 15th spot on the table, ahead of Empoli and Sassuolo.
