The result means Sporting Lagos will not feature in this year’s Federation Cup, a competition famed for seeing underdog winners. It also serves as an opportunity for the winner to qualify for the preliminary stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Offor took to microblogging site X formerly Twitter to apologise for the loss. “I sincerely apologize to our amazing fans @SportingLagos for our performance against @InterLagosFC, you all deserve better and we’ll continue to work hard to ensure better performance and results.”
Sporting will have the opportunity to atone for the loss when they welcome Lobi Stars to the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on April 2nd in an NPFL clash.
