Semi Ajayi’s Hull City have been promoted to the Premier League after securing a 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough in the Championship playoff final at Wembley on Saturday.
The Super Eagles defender featured for 90 minutes, helping the Tigers seal their return to the top flight for the first time since the 2016/17 campaign.
It means that Semi Ajayi will join several other Super Eagles stars in the Premier League including Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Frank Onyeka.
The 32-year-old last played in the Premier League during the 2020/21 season with West Brom. He featured in 33 matches that campaign, scoring twice.

Hull City had claimed a 2-0 victory over Milwall to secure their spot in the final. Meanwhile, Middlesbrough replaced Southampton, who were removed from the final after one of the club’s staff were caught spying on their opponents.
Hull City’s winning goal came in the 95th minute with Oli McBurnie netting the crucial strike that sent his side to the Premier League. The Tigers will now join Coventry City and Ipswich as the sides promoted from the Championship.

Coventry won the Championship title with 95 points. Ipswich finished second with 84 points, sealing their return to the Premier League.
