Reports in Italy have hinted that Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze has favored a move to Italian giants AC Milan over other suitors while Villarreal will only consider selling the winger for €25 million.
La Gazzetta dello Sport on Saturday reported that Milan manager Stephano Pioli has not just spoken with the player’s agents but with the Nigeria international while explaining in detail the club’s project and why he’s a good fit for the club.
Talks over an agreement with the player is progressing well while Milan is expected to tender an official bid to Villarreal for the forward after personal terms have been reached. Milan has expressly revealed that the 24-year-old is their top priority in the right-wing position due to his pace, dribbling, and his ability to beat his man in one-on-one situations.
“Milan’s plan is to find an agreement with the player first – which has been achieved – and then with his club. Milan has spoken with the winger’s entourage plenty and Pioli also called him, from which it emerged there is a mutual desire for the move to take place,” according to Sempremilan per La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Villarreal will be willing to catch in on the winger who only has one year left on his current deal but will not go lower than €25m for the Nigerian who has been at the club since 2018 and is a fan favorite due to his consistent display when playing against La Liga big boys such as Real Madrid and Barcelona.
