Newly invited forward Salim Fago Lawal and Nantes defender Chidozie Awaziem have arrived at the Super Eagles camp in Cairo as Nigeria continue preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Bold Sports reports.
Their arrival takes the number of players in camp to 24, leaving just four more expected before the squad is completed. Those yet to report include Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, Muhammed Usman and Moses Simon, all anticipated to link up with the team in the coming hours.
The Super Eagles held their first training session on Monday evening at the main bowl of the Cairo International Stadium, as head coach Eric Chelle and the technical crew stepped up on-field preparations. A second training session is scheduled to take place at the same venue on Tuesday morning.

Nigeria will test their readiness against the Pharaohs of Egypt in a pre-AFCON friendly billed for 7pm later today. Both teams have been granted permission to make more than five substitutions, a move expected to allow extensive squad rotation and tactical assessment.
Away from Nigeria’s camp, their group opponents have also intensified preparations for the tournament. Tunisia began theirs on Monday at the Mohammed VI Football Academy in Salé, Morocco.
Meanwhile, the Cranes of Uganda are set to fine-tune their preparations with a friendly against Gabon on Wednesday
