Washington State University freshman, Reuben Chinyelu, grabbed his first career double figures for the Cougars in their 78-57 victory over the Rhone Islands Rams on Sunday.
The former NBA Africa Academy big man scored 12 points, six rebounds, and one block to help the Cougars record their third win of the season. Isaac Jones scored a game-high 21 points, five assists, four rebounds, one steal, and one block to lead the Cougars while guard Kymany Houinsou had 13 points.
Zek Montgomery led Rhode Island with 19 points and four rebounds while guard Luis Kortright posted 13 points, five rebounds and three assists in the loss, their second of the new season.
It is the first time the Nigerian will be recording double figures in four games. The 20-year-old has started two of the four games he’s featured in this season for the Cougars.
