Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) champions Remo Stars have strengthened their squad ahead of the new season with the signing of Malian duo Chaka Coulibaly and Adama Goïta on two-year contracts, Bold Sports reports.

The Ikenne-based side, who clinched their maiden NPFL title in style last season, have been active in the transfer market as they look to build a team capable of defending their crown and competing on the continental stage.

Coulibaly, who has already been involved in Remo Stars’ preseason preparations, is expected to add depth and versatility to the squad. Goïta, meanwhile, arrives with an impressive goalscoring pedigree, having netted 23 league goals in the last two seasons for Djoliba AC in the Malian Ligue 1.

The double signing follows the recent arrival of Jerome Bonou, a defensive midfielder from Association Omnisports Les Requins de l’Atlantique, as the Sky Blue Stars continue to improve their squad ahead of a busy campaign.

Remo Stars’ quest for back-to-back NPFL titles kicks off on August 22 when they face Rivers United in their opening fixture. The champions will also represent Nigeria in the 2025/26 CAF Champions League, beginning with a preliminary round clash against Comoros side US Zilimadjou.

Meanwhile, due to ongoing renovations at their Ikenne stadium, the club have announced that all home fixtures will temporarily be played at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta.
