Victor Boniface continued his bright start to life in the German Bundesliga scoring a brace and providing an assist in Bayer Leverkusen’s 5-1 mauling of newly promoted Darmstadt on Saturday.
It took just 21 minutes for the Nigerian to find the back of the net with a well-taken solo goal after dribbling past three defenders. Darmstadt levelled through Oscar Vilhelmsson’s close-range header but Werkself went back in front through Exequiel Palacios.
Boniface secured his brace in the 62nd minute as he skillfully slipped into the penalty area and deftly flicked the ball past the goalkeeper from a tight angle following a rapid passing sequence.
The explosive striker turned provider five minutes later assisted Jonas Hofmann’s 20-metre drive which took the game to 4-1 sealing the win for Xabi Alonso’s men while substitute Adam Hlozek 83rd minute goal handed them their biggest win of the season.

Boniface had a total of 55 touches with a 90% completed pass accuracy. He also showed his strength, winning six of nine ground duels, and winning two of two aerial duels while completing five of six dribbles.
