English Premier League side West Ham United have made the signing of Nigeria international Raphael Onyedika a top priority as they look to bolster their midfield ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

The Hammers have long been linked with the 24-year-old, who has been a standout performer for Belgian side Club Brugge over the past three seasons following his €10 million move from Danish club FC Midtjylland.

According to reports in Belgium, Onyedika is widely expected to leave Brugge this summer, having missed out on a move last season. Interest in the Nigerian midfielder has been strong, with West Ham, Everton, Crystal Palace, and AC Milan among the clubs closely monitoring his situation in recent weeks.

However, reports from Belgium suggest the Hammers have emerged as frontrunners. Although Club Brugge had previously rebuffed the Londoners’ approach by holding firm on their €20 million valuation, the recent sale of Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham Hotspur has reportedly freed up the funds needed to meet the asking price.

West Ham are currently in the United States for their preseason tour but are expected to accelerate negotiations to secure Onyedika’s signature before the new season kicks off.

While the player is said to be taking his time in deciding his next move, he is unlikely to remain in Belgium for another year and could soon be on his way to the Premier League.
