Rangers International hit four as NPFL Matchday 4 produces big results

Rangers International made a major statement on Matchday 4 of the 2026/27 EuroMatch Nigeria Premier Football League. The defending champions defeated Kun Khalifat FC 4-2 away from home in one of the weekend’s highest-scoring games, Bold Sports reports.

The result adds to Rangers’ recent competitive run. They drew 1-1 with Katsina United in their opening league game. They also faced AS Sobemap in the CAF Champions League preliminary round before returning to domestic action. Rangers then completed their rescheduled meeting with Nasarawa United before facing Kun Khalifat.

The champions took the lead through Temitope Folarin, who struck in the 27th minute.

Kun Khalifat responded through Preye Seikorowei in the 40th minute. Rangers restored their advantage before the break when Waheed Adebayo scored in the 44th minute.

The visitors extended their lead again after the interval. Chimobi Igwilo found the net in the 66th minute to put Rangers 3-1 ahead.

Ayuba Umar gave Kun Khalifat renewed hope with an 84th-minute goal. Rangers, however, had the final say.

Chimobi Igwilo completed his brace in the 90th minute. His second goal sealed a 4-2 victory for the defending champions.

The result handed Rangers International all three points from an entertaining encounter.

Kano Pillars punish Doma United

Kano Pillars also produced a commanding performance at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

They defeated Doma United 4-1 after a strong attacking display. Abdullahi Musa opened the scoring in the 20th minute.

Rabiu Ali added a second goal in the 33nd minute. Doma United reduced the deficit in the 53rd minute.

Kano Pillars responded again through Ahmed Musa. His 77th-minute goal restored their two-goal advantage.

Nasiru Salihu completed the scoring in the 90th minute.

Doma United had entered the fixture with a perfect record after three league matches. They had scored five goals without conceding before the trip to Kano.

Ranchers Bees edge Bendel Insurance

Ranchers Bees also claimed a notable result. They defeated Bendel Insurance 2-1. Jude Okorie gave Ranchers Bees the lead in the 49th minute.

Lekan Gabriel restored parity for Bendel Insurance in the 66th minute. Zilkifilu Mohammed then settled the contest with a powerful strike in the 79th minute.

Elsewhere, Katsina United defeated Niger Tornadoes 1-0 on Saturday. Ikorodu City and Barau FC played out a goalless draw.

On Sunday, Abia Warriors defeated Sporting Lagos 2-0. Nasarawa United drew 1-1 with Rivers United, while Warri Wolves secured their first win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Kwara United.

Plateau United also recorded a 3-1 win over Shooting Stars. Inter Lagos secured a 1-0 away victory against Enyimba International, while Kano Pillars defeated Doma United 4-1.
