Enugu Rangers have secured their place in the second round of the 2024/25 CAF Champions League qualifiers, defeating Comorodian club Union Sportive de Zilimadjou 2-1 on aggregate in Uyo.
The Flying Antelopes, who held a 1-0 advantage from the first leg, needed only a draw to progress. They achieved this in a hard-fought 1-1 draw at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

Despite being clear favorites due to their home-field advantage and recent league championship, Rangers faced a resilient Zilimadjou side. The Comorodian team defended stoutly in the first half, but Agu Kenechukwu eventually broke the deadlock for Rangers in the 79th minute. However, Zilimadjou responded quickly with an equalizer six minutes later.
Rangers will now face the winner of the match between Seychelles’ Saint-Louis Suns United and Angola’s G.D. Sagrada Esperança in the second round. Sagrada Esperança are currently favored to advance after securing a 1-0 victory in the first leg.
A win in the second round would see Rangers qualify for the group stage of the CAF Champions League, a significant achievement for the Nigerian club.
