Princeton star Tosan Evbuomwan earns invitation to 2023 NBA Draft Combine

Tosan Evbuomwan, a rising star from the Princeton University men’s basketball team, has received an exciting invitation to attend the highly anticipated 2023 NBA Draft Combine. The announcement came straight from the league office on a Sunday night, creating a buzz of anticipation among basketball enthusiasts.

Impressively, Evbuomwan was selected as one of the top prospects from the NBA G League Elite Camp, a prestigious event that unfolded in the heart of Chicago, Illinois. The camp, held on May 13 and May 14 within the state-of-the-art Wintrust Arena, showcased exceptional talents and served as a gateway to the coveted combine. 

The upcoming combine, scheduled to run from May 15 to May 21, will also take place at the same venue.

With the NBA Draft looming on Thursday, June 22, held at the renowned Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, the prospects at the combine have a golden opportunity to catch the eye of scouts and leave an indelible impression leading up to the event.

Evbuomwan’s prowess on the court has been acknowledged throughout the 2022/23 season, and his remarkable achievements have solidified his status as a standout player. As a testament to his exceptional performance, he was honored with a well-deserved spot on the NCAA South Region All-Tournament Team, a remarkable feat that propelled the Tigers to the Sweet Sixteen.

Furthermore, Evbuomwan’s accolades have continued to pile up throughout the season, with notable recognitions such as the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 13 First Team, Ivy League Tournament Most Outstanding Player, Ivy Madness All-Tournament Team, Unanimous Ivy League First Team, Academic All-Ivy League, College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District, and London Basketball Classic MVP.

Setting records along his journey, Evbuomwan has etched his name in Princeton basketball history. His extraordinary 161 assists during the 2022/23 season not only tied the program record for most assists in a single season but also showcased his exceptional playmaking abilities. 

Additionally, his total of 323 career assists secures him a notable position at No. 6 on the Tigers’ all-time list for assists. Adding to his accomplishments, Evbuomwan proudly joined the exclusive 1,000-point club during the 2022-23 season, with his impressive tally of 1,033 points placing him at an esteemed No. 34 in the school’s history.
