Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen continued his rich vein of form on Sunday, finding the back of the net once again to help Galatasaray secure a 3–1 victory over Göztepe in their Turkish Super Lig encounter, Bold Sports reports.

The visitors stunned the home crowd early on when Efkan Bekiroglu opened the scoring for Göztepe in the sixth minute. However, their lead lasted only a short while as Osimhen, who was also on target in Galatasaray’s previous game against Bodo/Glimt, capitalised on a defensive error, rounded the goalkeeper, and calmly slotted home the equaliser.

Göztepe held firm despite the setback until the closing moments of the first half when defender Malcom Bokele Mputu received a second yellow card and was sent off, leaving the visitors with ten men for the remainder of the match.

Galatasaray made full use of their numerical advantage after the break as Gabriel Sara put the hosts ahead in the 63rd minute before Mauro Icardi sealed the win four minutes later, ensuring the Turkish champions claimed their third consecutive victory in all competitions.

The result keeps Galatasaray firmly at the top of the Super Lig table with 28 points, five clear of second-placed Trabzonspor, while Göztepe remain fifth on 16 points after suffering just their second defeat of the campaign.

Osimhen’s goal marks his ninth for club and country this season. He now has three goals in the Super Lig to add to the three goals he has recorded in the Champions League.
