Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is in line for a return to action after being named in Galatasaray’s traveling squad for their Turkish Super Lig fixture away to Alanyaspor on Friday, Bold Sports reports.
Osimhen has been sidelined since sustaining an ankle sprain while on international duty during Nigeria’s 1-0 victory over Rwanda in Uyo earlier this month. Since then, the 26-year-old has missed league matches against Eyüpspor and Konyaspor, as well as Galatasaray’s Champions League defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.
His return provides a major boost for the Turkish champions, who have made a perfect start to the new league campaign. Okan Buruk’s side sit top of the table with six wins from six, scoring 18 goals and conceding just twice, opening up a six-point gap over second-placed Göztepe.

It remains uncertain whether Osimhen will be thrown straight into the starting lineup or eased back with limited minutes, particularly with a crucial European test on the horizon.
After facing Alanyaspor, Galatasaray will host Premier League champions Liverpool in the Champions League, where Buruk is expected to count on Osimhen’s firepower as they seek to avoid back-to-back defeats.
Meanwhile, Galatasaray head into Friday’s clash with confidence, having beaten Alanyaspor both home and away last season. They have also not suffered a league defeat against the Antalya-based side since 2021.
For Osimhen, Friday’s match could mark the start of another influential spell as the Nigerian striker looks to hit the ground running and help Galatasaray maintain their domestic and continental ambitions.
