Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen was on target as Galatasaray cruised to a 3–0 victory over İstanbul Başakşehir in a Turkish Super Lig clash at RAMS Park on Saturday night, strengthening their push to retain the domestic league title.

After a cagey first half, the contest opened up when Başakşehir right-back Festy Ebosele was sent off for a second booking in the 57th minute.

Galatasaray capitalised on the numerical advantage almost immediately, with Wilfried Singo breaking the deadlock in the 58th minute. Osimhen doubled the lead in the 66th minute before Renato Nhaga wrapped up the win with a third goal in the 84th minute.

The victory moves Galatasaray seven points clear of their closest challengers, Fenerbahçe and Trabzonspor, in the title race.

Osimhen’s strike takes his league tally to 12 goals and four assists in 19 appearances, while his overall contribution for the season now stands at 19 goals and seven assists in 28 matches.\

Earlier in the game, the Nigerian forward came close to scoring in spectacular fashion, but his overhead kick in the 63rd minute rattled the woodwork.
