…Onuachu sets sights on Super Lig top scorer award
Paul Onuachu once again proved decisive for Trabzonspor, scoring the lone goal in a 1–0 victory over Rizespor in a Turkish Super Lig clash on Saturday night.
The Nigerian striker, who has been in red-hot form, has now become the first Trabzonspor player since Burak Yılmaz (May–November 2011; 11 matches) to score in eight consecutive games for the club.
Onuachu netted the winner in the 51st minute, taking his tally to 21 goals in 23 league matches this season, while also providing two assists.

Trabzonspor largely dominated the encounter, registering 11 shots with four on target, but the towering forward admitted it was a difficult contest and praised the resilience of their opponents.
“There are no easy matches in this league; every game is tough. We have to give credit to our opponents because they put up a good fight,” Onuachu said. “We’ll keep battling. With the help of our coach and the technical staff, we want to continue winning.”
The 31-year-old is now firmly on course to win the Turkish Super Lig Golden Boot, with his 21 goals placing him at the top of the scoring chart. İstanbul Başakşehir striker Eldor Shomurodov is his closest challenger with 16 goals.
