Gift Orban and Yira Sor both found the back of the net but could not prevent Amedspor from suffering a 4-3 defeat to Galatasaray in their Turkish Super Lig clash at the RAMS Park on Saturday.
Orban scored his 10th goal of the season to become the league’s leading goalscorer, while Sor registered his second goal of the campaign. However, their contributions were not enough to deny the league leaders all three points in an entertaining encounter.
Galatasaray made a flying start to the game, taking the lead in the seventh minute courtesy of Rafael Leão, who calmly finished after being played through on goal by Lucas Torreira.
The hosts doubled their advantage shortly before the break when Amedspor goalkeeper Alban Lafont turned the ball into his own net.

Amedspor made two changes at half-time in an attempt to turn the game around, bringing on Sor and Ali Turap Bülbül for Mbaye Diagne and Gökhan Gül. However, Galatasaray extended their lead in the 59th minute through youngster Aleksey Batrakov to make it 3-0.
The visitors responded with an impressive fightback, scoring twice within four minutes to bring themselves back into contention. Dia Saba pulled one back in the 62nd minute before Orban found the net three minutes later to reduce the deficit to 3-2.
However, Galatasaray restored their two-goal cushion in the 80th minute through Barış Alper Yılmaz, putting the game beyond Amedspor’s reach. Sor added another goal in stoppage time to make it 4-3 and set up a tense finish, but the hosts held on to secure victory.

The result keeps Galatasaray top of the Super Lig standings with 28 points, five ahead of Amedspor, who remain second with 23 points. However, Amedspor could drop to third place if Trabzonspor defeat Alanyaspor in their fixture on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Orban’s goal means he has now scored in three consecutive Super Lig matches and takes his league tally to 10 for the season. The Nigerian forward moves ahead of Victor Osimhen, who has nine goals, and Mohammed Salah, who has eight, in the race for the league’s Golden Boot.
