Paul Onuachu scored his 10th and 11th goals of the season to inspire Trabzonspor to a 3–1 victory over Konyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig, moving them to within two points of league leaders Galatasaray, Bold Sports reports.
Despite Trabzonspor’s bright start, it was the visitors who went ahead in the 17th minute after Okay Yokuşlu inadvertently turned the ball into his own net.
Onuachu levelled the score in the 43rd minute from the penalty spot before completing his brace five minutes into the second half. Ernest Muçi added a third in the 56th minute, putting the game firmly out of Konyaspor’s reach. Konyaspor now sit provisionally 11th on the table.

The Nigerian striker’s double sees him leapfrog İstanbul Başakşehir’s Eldor Shomurodov at the top of the scoring charts. Shomurodov took his tally to 10 goals, finding the back of the net in the 97th minute of Başakşehir’s 2–1 win away at Kasımpaşa despite going down to 10-men. Galatasaray’s Mauro Icardi is third with seven goals.
Onuachu has now scored 11 goals in 14 league appearances and is on course to challenge Victor Osimhen’s crown from last season. Osimhen has endured a stop–start campaign due to injuries, limiting him to just three goals in nine league outings.

Trabzonspor now sit two points behind Galatasaray, who face Fenerbahçe in a top-of-the-table showdown on Monday at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium. Trabzonspor are level on points with Fenerbahçe, who remain ahead only on goal difference.
Just as Anthony Nwakaeme inspired Trabzonspor to their first league title in 38 years during the 2021/22 season, Onuachu will be aiming to lead the club to another championship, their first since 2022.
