Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has been named in the Turkish Super Lig Team of the Week after inspiring Trabzonspor to their sixth win of the season – a 2-1 victory over Rizespor last weekend.
His compatriot Victor Osimhen missed out on the selection after failing to find the net in Galatasaray’s 2-1 win over İstanbul Başakşehir.
In a 4-3-3 formation, the Team of the Week, voted for by fans, features Gençlerbirliği’s Erhan Erentürk as the goalkeeper following his standout performance in their 2-1 away win against Beşiktaş.
The defensive line includes Rick van Drongelen (Samsunspor), Ümit Akdağ (Alanyaspor), Tayfur Bingöl (Kocaelispor), and Guilherme (Konyaspor).
In midfield, İlkay Gündoğan (Galatasaray), Orkun Kökçü (Beşiktaş), and Marco Asensio (Fenerbahçe) form the trio.
Up front, Leroy Sané (Galatasaray) and Rafa Silva (Beşiktaş) join Onuachu to complete the attacking lineup.
Onuachu currently leads the Turkish Super Lig scoring chart with seven goals in nine matches, ahead of Rafa Silva and Mauro Icardi (Galatasaray), who both have five goals apiece.
