Ikorodu City climbed to the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League following their 2–0 victory over Niger Tornadoes on Matchday 25, with head coach Bright Ozadegbe attributing their success to consistency, focus, and an unwavering refusal to be distracted by external circumstances.
The Lagos-based side opened the scoring in the 33rd minute when Joseph Arumala calmly converted a penalty awarded after Chidera Opara was fouled inside the box.
Arumala then sealed the win in the 88th minute, finishing off a measured delivery from defender Jaguar Uche to secure all three points for the Oga Boys.
In 13 NPFL matches played at the Onikan venue, Ikorodu City have recorded ten wins and three draws, turning their home ground into a reliable platform for their title push, they have turned their home ground into a fortress, playing a major role in their title push.

After the game, head coach Bright Ozadegbe emphasized the team’s mindset moving forward. “I hope we know we have to pick up points today. We’re not going to stop, we’re hoping to go, but it was a good game — we take care of the game one step at a time,” he said.
On the significance of scoring multiple goals after a period of drought, Ozadegbe added, “Yeah, it brings in a lot of confidence. The atmosphere is good in the locker room. So we’ll take this momentum on for the next game.”
