Super Eagles defender Olisa Ndah is a major doubt for Nigeria’s upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against Libya. The matches are scheduled for October 11th and 15th in Uyo and Tripoli, respectively.
His club’s manager, José Luis Riveiro, confirmed that Ndah, along with South African winger Monnapule Saleng, are likely to miss the MTN 8 final against Stellenbosch on October 5th.

Ndah, who has been a standout performer for the South African giants, was substituted in the 84th minute of their recent 3-0 win over Polokwane City. He was named the Most Valuable Player of the Match for his contribution to the clean sheet.
However, he missed the Buccaneers’ 1-0 victory over Richards Bay on Sunday. Riveiro confirmed that Ndah is unlikely to be fit for the Stellenbosch match, which could jeopardize his chances of being selected for the Super Eagles squad against Libya. The list of players for the national team is expected to be announced this week.
“In our last game against Polokwane City both Olisa Ndah and Monnapule Saleng were subbed because of different injuries that’s the reason they were not playing (against Richards Bay),” Riveiro said.
“And actually we’re not 100% sure that they are going to be at the final against Stellenbosch (on Saturday). So, we are not saving anybody because we are taking every game like a final for us.
“We are giving the same respect to Richards Bay like the same respect we are going to give to Stellenbosch in the final. And that’s the way we want to do things. So, there is nothing like saving players.”
