Remo Stars Football Club has secured the services of their head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, until 2027. The extension comes after an impressive campaign that saw the Sky Blue Stars qualify for the CAF Champions League for the second consecutive year.
Ogunmodede, who joined the club in 2016, has been instrumental in their rise to the top tier of Nigerian football. He guided Remo Stars to promotion twice, solidifying his status as a key figure in the club’s success.
Previously contracted until 2025, the club has rewarded Ogunmodede with a new lucrative deal that keeps him at the helm until 2027. Ogunmodede expressed his excitement about continuing to build on the club’s achievements, expressing his delight at the extension.
“Saying I am glad is an understatement, I am happy the club is able to see what I have done so far, and to have counted me worthy of having an extension is a big motivation for me,” Ogunmodede told the club’s official website.
“My thanks, of course, go to my staff and my players; without their empathy and friendship, this wouldn’t be possible. I love my players and it is a pleasure to know that we are going to be together for at least the next three years.”

The 44-year-old coach isn’t content with leading the club to consecutive CAF Champions League qualifications. His sights are now set on securing the elusive Nigeria Premier Football League title. “The target is to win the league and go far on the continent.”
Remo Stars CEO, Adedoyin Ogungbefun added that the club is excited to have Ogunmodede at the club and have also charged the gaffer to build on the good job he’s done so far.
“For us at Remo Stars, we are glad that he is still here, he has done a marvelous job and we hope that he can do better. That’s why we are extending the contract.
“His work rate and professionalism are exceptional and we hope we can have a fruitful time together.”
