The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) and the Sport Ministry have chosen two athletes for important roles at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The Games will start on Friday, July 26, 2024, in Paris, France.

Tobi Amusan from the track and field team will be Nigeria’s flagbearer. She is the first woman to have this honor since Mary Onyali at the Athens 2004 Olympics.
Amusan holds the world record in the 100m hurdles and is one of Nigeria’s best hopes for a medal.
Anuoluwapo Opeyori from the badminton team will be the General Team Captain. Opeyori, 26, has played for Nigeria since 2017.
He won both the African Championships and African Games in singles in 2019. He also competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
As Team Captain, Opeyori will lead and support the Nigerian team in Paris. His experience in international competitions will help him encourage his teammates to do their best.
