NBA: Jordan Nwora scores 21 points in Bucks loss to Grizzlies

Jordan Nwora led the Milwaukee Bucks in scoring with 21 points and rebounds (eight) also adding two assists and one steal in their 107-102 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies in their opening preseason game ahead of the 2022/23 regular season. 

The Bucks were without superstars Giannis Antetokounmpo and khris Middleton, Joe Ingles and a host of others while the Grizzlies had Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Steven Adams and others sitting the game out. Nwora was in the starting lineup a a result of Giannis and Middleton missing the game. 

Nwora’s 21 points was the highest in the game while rookie David Roddy led the Grizzlies in scoring with 18 points while adding five rebounds. Nwora shot 7/15 field goals and 5/7 from the free throw line. 

This is Nwora’s third season in the NBA and he’ll be hoping to improve his all-round game so as to get more roster minutes with the 2021 NBA champions. He was a second round 45th overall selection by the Bucks in the 2020 NBA Draft and was recently rewarded with a two-year contract worth $6.2m.

In other preseason games, Precious Achiuwa will be in action for the Toronto Raptors when they play against the Utah Jazz while Nigerian trio, Chimezie Metu, KZ Okpala and Chima Moneke will be in action against the Los Angeles lakers on Tuesday.
