Napoli are reportedly uninterested in Manchester United’s proposal to include Joshua Zirkzee in a player-plus-cash deal for Victor Osimhen, preferring instead a full cash payment for the Nigerian striker.
According to Il Mattino reports via Eurosport, the Serie A side remain firm on their valuation of Osimhen and are willing to wait until the summer to secure a deal that meets their financial expectations.
Bold Sports had earlier reported that United who just appointed that the Ruben Amorim as new manager want Osimhen in the January transfer window, and believe they can get in in exchange for Zirkzee and €30 million.
While United have shown interest, Napoli are not inclined to accept Zirkzee as part of the package, even if the deal would value him at €30 million.
Napoli’s reluctance to entertain the offer stems partly from their ongoing efforts to sign Ange-Yoan Bonny from Parma. The young forward, represented by Federico Pastorello, shares the same agent as Romelu Lukaku and Alex Meret. However, negotiations with Parma for a midseason transfer are proving challenging.
In addition to seeking reinforcements in attack, Napoli manager Antonio Conte has prioritised strengthening the team’s defense. The club is targeting Jaka Bijol and Ko Itakura, with Patrick Dorgu also on their radar. Should Napoli win the race for Dorgu, they plan to integrate him immediately rather than letting him remain at Lecce until the end of the season.
