Super Eagles winger Moses Simon was the hero for Paris FC, scoring the decisive goal in their 1–0 victory over AS Monaco in a French Ligue 1 encounter at the Stade Louis II on Saturday.

Monaco had hoped to close the gap on league leaders Paris Saint-Germain, who edged Nice 1–0 earlier in the day, to just one point. However, the newcomers stunned them with a resilient display to claim their fourth win of the season, moving up to 10th place on the log.

Simon broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute, latching onto a well-timed pass from Maxime López inside the box before firing past goalkeeper Phillipp Köhn from close range.

Despite Monaco’s late push for an equaliser, Paris FC’s defence held firm, with goalkeeper Kevin Trapp making a series of crucial saves to secure all three points for the visitors.

Simon was substituted in the 90th minute for forward Nouha Dicko, who saw out the remaining eight minutes of stoppage time.

The goal takes Simon’s tally for the season to three goals and two assists in 11 appearances. The Nigerian international has been instrumental for the newly promoted side, providing valuable experience and leadership as they navigate their first top-flight campaign in over four decades.
