Miye Oni made a strong debut for his new team, the Memphis Grizzlies, scoring 11 points and contributing 4 rebounds and 1 assist in their 124-121 preseason victory over the Chicago Bulls.
Oni, who joined the Grizzlies in September after a standout season with the Oscola Magic in the NBA G-League, showcased his efficiency on the court, finishing +8 in 20 minutes of play.

Drafted by the Utah Jazz in the 2019 NBA Draft, Oni spent three seasons with the franchise before moving to the United Kingdom to play for the London Lions. He helped the Lions become the first British team to qualify for the EuroCup Playoffs.
Oni who represented Nigeria at the 2020 Olympics will be looking to bolster the Grizzlies’ chances of making the playoffs this season.
Another Nigerian-born player, Ayo Dosunmu, suited up for the Bulls. Starting for Chicago, Dosunmu contributed 7 points and 2 rebounds in the loss. Dosunmu, a second-round pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, is now in his fourth season with the Bulls.
