Italian Serie A giants AC Milan is eager to acquire the services of Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze and is scheduled to hold discussions with his representatives this week regarding a potential transfer worth €30 million at the San Siro.
Chukwueze has garnered interest from various top European clubs as he prepares for a summer move from his current team, Villarreal. There have been reports of Real Madrid also expressing interest in securing his services.
Chukwueze himself has dismissed rumors connecting him to Spanish giants Real Madrid, stating, “People will always talk. I solely focus on Villarreal. I do not pay attention to what is said on social media. It is irrelevant. What truly matters is the present moment.”
With just one year remaining on his contract with Villarreal and uncertainty surrounding a possible extension, the Yellow Submarines are willing to capitalize on the 24-year-old’s value rather than risk losing him as a free agent next season.
AC Milan is actively seeking to reinforce their attacking options, particularly on the right flank, and they have identified the Super Eagles winger as a suitable candidate for the position. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Milan will be meeting with the player’s agent to discuss the next steps.
“The Rossoneri team is in search of reinforcements for the right winger role. In this regard, they greatly appreciate Samuel Chukwueze, born in 1999, who will become available from Villarreal on June 30, 2024. The price tag for the transfer could exceed €30 million. A meeting between Milan and Chukwueze’s agents is likely to occur within the next few days.
In the recently concluded season, Chukwueze displayed his prowess by scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists in 50 appearances.
