Dutch giants Ajax have reached an agreement with Championship side Middlesbrough for the signing of Super Eagles target, Chuba Akpom, on a five year-year deal reportedly worth €12m + €2m add-ons, according to The Athletic.
Akpom is expected to travel to the Netherlands on Monday to complete his medical with Ajax after he was given permission by Boro. Ajax beat the likes of Sheffield United, Lens amongst others.

The 27-year-old finished as the top scorer of the 2022/23 season in the championship scoring 28 goals in 50 appearances for Boro and was named the Most Valuable Player of the competition as Middlesbrough narrowly missed out on a return to the top-flight.
Akpom had just one year left on his contract after Boro triggered the extension clause in his contract in January after a stellar season.
There have been speculations regarding the future of the former Arsenal academy player over the summer and the player earlier this month had insisted that he “would love to stay” at the club, but admitted, “a lot of things are not in my control”.
