Mexican Open: Mmoh hopes to upset Giron

Michael Mmoh will be hoping to advance to the round of 16 of the Mexican Open in the early hours of Tuesday when he faces America’s Marcos Andres Giron who is currently ranked No. 55 in the world at the Arena GNP Seguros.

Mmoh, a player of Nigerian descent who is currently ranked No. 82 in the world would fancy his chances against the American based on his recent impressive performance at the Delray Beach Open in Florida where he reached the quarter finals losing to Mackenzie McDonald lost in the final of the competition.

The 25-year-old who had an impressive run in this year’s Australian Open beating Alexander Zverev on his way to reaching the third round of the competition is eying his first ever tennis trophy.

Giron who reached the quarter-finals of the Delray Beach Open on paper will be favourite for the game against Mmoh.
