Nigeria striker Odion Ighalo could be lining up alongside international superstar Lionel Messi after mega rich Saudi Arabia side Al Hilal approached the Argentine with an official contract bid worth over €400m per-year in salaries.
There’s been uncertainty over the future of the World Cup winner in Paris with PSG and while a return to Barcelona is on the cards, Al Hilal will be hoping to tempt him with the mega offer however, reports have stated that the current FIFA Best Player will be looking to remain in Europe.
Messi’s contract is due to expire in the summer and although he can continue negotiations over a contract extension with the club, he has also received interests from Major League Soccer side Inter Miami.
A move to Saudi Arabia for Messi will rekindle the age-long rivalry between himself and Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo who joined Al Nassr in January in a whooping deal worth over €200m.
Since joining Al Hilal, Ighalo has been the main player at the club. He has found the back of the net 16 times in 18 league appearances this season and with the likelihood of Messi joining, the club will improve in terms of the quality of play on the pitch and a guaranteed global follower-ship.
