Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Manchester United have no plans to hijack Victor Osimhen’s potential transfer to Galatasaray, with the Turkish champions edging closer to securing a deal for the Nigerian striker.

Galatasaray are currently in advanced negotiations with Napoli, having tabled a €75 million offer with €40 million to be paid upfront and the remaining €35 million in installments. The club remain optimistic that the deal will be finalised soon.

Manchester United had been previously linked with a move for Osimhen as they seek to strengthen their attack following a historically disappointing campaign. However, the Premier League side have reportedly cooled their interest.

According to Fabrizio, United are unwilling to meet Osimhen’s wage demands. The 26-year-old has agreed to a three-year contract with Galatasaray, where he is expected to earn €16 million net per season — a figure deemed too expensive by the English club.

Osimhen is understood to have prioritised a permanent return to Galatasaray after a highly successful loan spell last season. Despite interest from other clubs, including Saudi giants Al Hilal, the Nigerian striker has shown a strong desire to stay in Istanbul.

With Osimhen’s stance now clear, Napoli may be left with no option but to finalize his sale. The Serie A club are reportedly eyeing Liverpool striker Darwin Núñez as their preferred replacement for the Nigerian international.

Osimhen enjoyed a sensational season on loan at Galatasaray, scoring 37 goals and providing seven assists. His contributions were instrumental in helping the club win both the Turkish Super Lig and Turkish Cup titles.
