Nigeria’s representatives at the 2026 Basketball Africa League, the Maktown Flyers, will be aiming for a strong start to their campaign when they face Ivory Coast’s JCA Kings at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, Morocco.
This marks a historic debut for the Maktown Flyers on the continental stage, having secured their place by defeating Rivers Hoopers to emerge as champions of Nigeria.
Drawn in the Sahara Conference, Maktown will compete for a playoff spot against JCA Kings, Club Africain (Tunisia), FUS Rabat (Morocco), Al Ahly (Egypt), and ASC Ville de Dakar (Senegal).

JCA Kings, who suffered an 85–55 defeat to FUS Rabat in their opening game, will be eager to bounce back. Meanwhile, the Flyers will be determined to make a statement in their maiden appearance.
With only four of the six teams advancing to the playoffs in Kigali later this year, every game will be crucial for Maktown’s ambitions.
The team is led by Nigeria’s senior men’s national team head coach, Abdulrahman Mohamed, whose experience will be key as the Flyers navigate their first continental campaign.
