Galatasaray are closing in on the signing of Burnley midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu, with a full agreement now in place for a deal worth just under €30 million (around ₦47 billion), Boldsports report.
The Turkish champions have prioritised the Super Eagles-eligible midfielder as they continue strengthening their squad for the 2026/27 season.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the breakthrough with his trademark update: “Galatasaray are completing Lesley Ugochukwu deal, here we go!” The agreement is expected to begin as a loan before a purchase clause becomes mandatory if specific conditions are met.
Ugochukwu enjoyed a productive first season at Burnley despite the club’s relegation from the Premier League. The 22-year-old featured in 38 matches across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing two assists. His performances made him one of Burnley’s standout players and attracted interest from several clubs before Galatasaray accelerated negotiations.
The move will reunite Ugochukwu with Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who has become a key figure at Galatasaray. The Istanbul giants are building a squad capable of defending their Turkish Super Lig title while competing strongly in the UEFA Champions League next season.

According to reports, Ugochukwu has already agreed personal terms and is expected to travel to Istanbul soon to complete his medical and sign his contract.
Although Ugochukwu has represented France at youth level, he remains eligible to play for Nigeria because he has not made a competitive senior appearance for the French national team.
His situation continues to attract interest from Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, who is believed to be monitoring the midfielder’s progress. A successful spell in Turkey could strengthen his chances of receiving a future Nigeria call-up.
Galatasaray’s midfield recruitment reflects the club’s ambition ahead of another demanding campaign. If the transfer is completed as expected, Ugochukwu will add youth, athleticism and versatility to Okan Buruk’s squad while taking another significant step in his career.
