Kelechi Iheanacho has received two nominations for Celtic Goal of the Month after producing key moments for Celtic F.C. during April.
The Nigerian forward heads into the latest Old Firm derby with growing momentum after several impactful displays for the Scottish champions. Iheanacho scored in Celtic’s league meeting against Dundee F.C. and later impressed again in the Scottish Cup clash against St Mirren F.C..
The former Leicester city player has now delivered important goals in recent weeks after struggling with fitness issues earlier in the campaign.
One of Iheanacho’s nominated strikes arrived in a Premiership encounter on April 5. The Super Eagles attacker controlled Marcelo Saracchi’s delivery before firing home an 82nd-minute winner against Dundee.

That goal proved decisive as Celtic secured another important league result during their title-winning run.
His second nomination came from Celtic’s dramatic 6-2 Scottish Cup semifinal victory over St Mirren on April 19.
Iheanacho came off the bench and influenced the game immediately. During extra time, he produced a composed finish inside the box to cap an impressive cameo performance for Martin O’Neill’s side.
Celtic included six goals in the monthly competition, with Iheanacho earning two spots on the shortlist alongside efforts from Saoirse Noonan, Anthony Ralston, Kieran Tierney and Daizen Maeda.
The Nigerian striker could also return for Sunday’s Old Firm showdown against Rangers F.C. after previously missing four meetings with Celtic’s city rivals this season.
