Montpellier striker, Akor Adams, has hailed the impact former Super Eagles forward, John Utaka, has had on his career since joining the Ligue 1 side in the summer.
Utaka played a pivotal role in the club’s historic 2011/12 Ligue 1 title triumph, their first and only to date. The 41-year-old currently serves as a youth coach at the club and has also worked closely with Akor Adams, a recent acquisition from Norwegian side Lillestrom, who has made a significant impact on the league.

Akor Adams has so far scored seven goals in 11 appearances. He currently sits second on the league’s top scorers’ log behind PSG’s Kylian Mbappe who has found the back of the net 13 times in 11 appearances.
The 23-year-old former Jamba FA player has hailed the impact of Utaka on his overall performance in France. “I’m delighted and football is great here. John Utaka, for me, is a legend. He’s a great guy,” Akor Adams told Allezpaillade.
“He (Utaka) teaches me a lot. Often after matches, he makes comments to me. He’s a former striker so he has a lot of experience. For me, having him in the club is positive.”
Despite only joining a top 5 European league, his exploits have attracted interest from Serie A giants AC Milan
