Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been discharged from the hospital after his successful surgery.
Osimhen had fractured his eye socket and cheekbone in Napoli’s 3-2 loss to Inter Milan on Sunday after a clash of heads with Inter’s Milan Skriniar.
The injury required the 22-year-old to go for an operation which he had on Tuesday.
After the surgery, Napoli announced that Osimhen will be out for 90 days, ruling him out of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations starting in Cameroon on January 9.
Napoli announced on Thursday that Osimhen was discharged from the hospital.
The club also said the striker will rest for between 10 and 15 days before being reassessed.
“Victor Osimhen was released from the Ruesch clinic this morning and has returned home. He will rest for 10 to 15 days before being reassessed.
“Napoli and Dr. Raffaele Canonico would like to thank Inter, in particular Giuseppe Marotta and Dr. Piero Volpi as well as those who helped at Niguarda hospital in Milan, for their care and quick intervention following Victor Osimhen’s injury,” Napoli wrote on their website.
