Ikorodu City have climbed to the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League for the first time in their history after securing a 2-1 victory over Plateau United at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, on Sunday, while Wikki Tourists pulled off the biggest upset of Matchday 13 with a stunning 1-0 win over Enyimba in Aba.
Ikorodu City entered Matchday 13 in third place, with Nasarawa United leading the table and Abia Warriors second. However, the two teams ahead of them failed to win, allowing Ikorodu City, who earned the only victory among the top three, to surge to the summit.
After a goalless first half, the hosts took control early in the second period. Joseph Arumala broke the deadlock just two minutes after the restart, before Alade Balogun doubled their lead in the 53rd minute. Plateau United’s Wisdom Ndon pulled one back, but it proved only a consolation as Ikorodu City held firm for a historic win.

The Oga Boys now sit atop the standings with 24 points from 13 matches, boasting six wins, six draws, and just one defeat, edging Nasarawa United on goal difference.
Nasarawa United dropped to second after a 1-1 draw against Kun Khalifat at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri. Anas Yusuf put the Solid Miners ahead in the 14th minute, but the hosts equalised through Stanley Out in the 65th minute.
The shock result of the day came in Aba, where nine-time champions Enyimba fell 1-0 at home to Wikki Tourists.

Mamuda Aliyu scored the decisive goal in the 33rd minute, and despite Enyimba’s sustained pressure in search of an equaliser, Wikki’s defence stood strong to deliver their first away win of the season, a memorable triumph over the People’s Elephant.
In other fixtures across the country, Rivers United defeated Warri Wolves 2-1 to climb to third on the log; Niger Tornadoes scored two unanswered goals against Katsina United; El Kanemi Warriors beat Kwara United 2-0; and Bayelsa United edged Abia Warriors 2-1.
