‘I look forward to defending my title,’ AIU decision excites Tobi Amusan

World champion Tobi Amusan has expressed delight at being cleared of anti-doping rule violation by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) Disciplinary Tribunal.

The AIU in a statement on Thursday, said Amusan was cleared by a majority decision of the Disciplinary Tribunal.

While the AIU said it will review the decision in details before deciding if to appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sports, Tobi Amusan has been cleared to compete at the World Athletics Championships starting in Budapest, Hungary on Saturday.

Amusan in a post on her social media pages said she was happy to have put the incident behind her and was looking forward to defending the title she won last year in Eugene, USA.

She wrote, “This morning I found out that the Independent Tribunal that heard my case has ruled that I did not violate the whereabouts rules and as a result, I will not be sanctioned & none of my results will be precluded. I am thrilled to put this
behind me, and I look forward to defending my title at next week’s World Championships. I generally have been & consistently will be an ally of CLEAN SPORT

“To my Five Fingers; God is the greatest & 1 genuinely appreciate y’all for the support.”
