Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has named Barcelona captain Marc-André ter Stegen, Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois, and Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma as his top three goalkeepers in world football.

The Udinese shot-stopper enjoyed an impressive 2025/26 campaign, recording 10 clean sheets and establishing himself as one of the standout goalkeepers in Serie A.

When asked to rank his top three goalkeepers, Okoye highlighted three of the game’s most accomplished shot-stoppers but reserved special praise for Donnarumma, whom he believes is currently operating at the highest level.

“For me, No. 1 is Ter Stegen, then Courtois and Donnarumma,” Okoye said.

“Ter Stegen is No. 1 for me because when I was a young player at Borussia Mönchengladbach, he was already playing with the U-19s and I always looked up to him. But right now, I think Donnarumma is the strongest goalkeeper.

“At the moment, he’s the best. He is on a different level.”

The Italian goalkeeper has consistently been regarded as one of the finest goalkeepers in world football over the past several years. The Italian international played a pivotal role in helping Paris Saint-Germain secure their first-ever UEFA Champions League title during the 2024/25 season and has continued to deliver outstanding performances at the highest level.

Okoye’s admiration for the Man City man reflects the widespread recognition the Italian has earned for his commanding presence, shot-stopping ability, and consistency in crucial matches.
