KRC Genk’s Tolu Arokodare is under close observation following a concussion during their 3-0 defeat to Club Brugge on Sunday in a championships playoff match.
Arokodare collided with Brugge’s Nordin Jackers around the 60th-minute mark, taking an elbow to the head. Despite attempting to continue, he soon felt faint.

Brugges’ defender Brandon Mechele spotted Arokodare’s condition and prevented a fall. Mechele called for a stoppage, allowing medical personnel to attend to the striker.
“I was nervous for a moment and didn’t know what to do. It was still scary,” Mechele said when asked about the incident.
Manager Wouter Vrancken confirmed Arokodare will be monitored before their next match on May 4th against Cercle Brugge. This comes after a similar incident against KAA Gent.
“He also suffered a similar blow against Ghent. Now he felt himself turning away. We will have to wait and see in the coming days,” Vrancken told Sporza.
Arokodare received brief on-field treatment before being substituted for Andi Zeqiri in the 64th minute.
